The United States squandered numerous chances in that game, and were eventually beaten by their local rivals for the first time in ten years after Canada scored from the spot.

Australia would feel that they have surpassed expectations to reach this stage of the competition. However, the preference to pick up the bronze lies with the Americans, who will definitely feel that they have a point to prove.
